Meet The Team

Sarah set up Modern Legal in 2016 and has 20 years experience in employment law including working in private practice in Perth and overseas and working for the Fair Work Ombudsman. Sarah is a highly experienced workplace investigator and regularly conducts complex investigations and sensitive cultural reviews. 

Felicity joined Modern Legal in 2020 after working in national and international law firms as well as the university sector.  Felicity has 20 years of experience in employment law and workplace investigations and is also an accredited mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System.

Nikita is an experienced employment lawyer with over 15 years' experience who regularly advises both employer and employee clients on a range of employment law issues.  Nikita has been recognised in Doyle's Guide to the Legal Profession annually since 2018 for her expertise in employment law.

Kate works closely with employers and employees advising them on all aspects of the employment relationship including, recruitment, statutory and Modern Award compliance, disciplinary investigations, and terminations.  In her twenty plus year career, she has developed a commercial focus; keen to minimise the risks of disputes, especially in relation to cost and reputational exposure.

Lara is an experienced employment lawyer, specialising in workplace investigations. Lara joined Modern Legal in 2024 after working in multinational firms for over 10 years.

Margaret provides support to our team and is the main point of contact for inquiries. Margaret has extensive experience in administration having worked in education and volunteer management in the not for profit sector.
